Be aware that the Church maintains and enforces

a “No Counterfeit Goods” Policy

at the Balmain Market


    Prior to occupying a site, new stall-holders will be required to sign a formal statement that they are NOT intending to sell counterfeit merchandise.


  It is the policy of St Andrews Congregational Church and the Balmain Market that stall-holders shall not offer for sale any goods or services featuring Trade Marks that are not legally affixed or displayed with the merchandise.


  If information is received that a particular stall-holder is selling counterfeit merchandise the Market Manager may report this activity to Law Enforcement, Australian Customs or the Trade Mark owner or Licensee for appropriate legal action.


        St Andrew’s Balmain Market. in its sole judgement, reserves the right to evict or deny stall privileges to any vendor who St Andrew’s Balmain Market believes has violated, or is likely to violate, this Anti-Counterfeiting Policy.


   

 
Our Rules
Stall-holders are not permitted to unload or set up stalls prior to 7.30 a.m. Fines apply! [Leichhardt Council requirement]. Sites must be vacated no later than 6.00 p.m. Stall-holders who are local crafts people have priority over those selling imported crafts & manufactured goods. In order that competition is not so extensive as to prove unfair, no more than three (3) stall-holders on any one day will be allowed to sell goods of an identical nature. The sale of art, jewellery and photo frames is exempt. All goods to be sold at the Market are to first be approved for sale by the Management before trading is allowed to commence, while stall-holders are not permitted to change products without first notifying Management. Unless heavy and continuous rainfall causes cancellation, the Market will operate. Stall-holders are encouraged to come prepared for all weather conditions. If, on the day, you decide not to set up because of prevailing weather conditions you will be required to pay the full fee. Where trading is affected by inclement weather the fee will be reduced according to the number of hours where trading was not possible. The fee charged is a site fee; it is not dependent on the volume of trade or lack thereof. When stall-holders are approached for payment, it is expected that they have come prepared to pay the set fee even if no sales are made. If full payment is not made by 2.00 p.m. on any given day the stall-holder will not be able to trade on any future Saturday until outstanding payment has been made. N.B. Payment of fees must be made in cash. There is no provision for payment by Credit Card, while payment by cheque is only available to permanent stall-holders!!!!!! Permanent sites are available to those who have traded on a casual basis for two months. Extenuating circumstances excepted, unless advice of intending Saturday absence is received no later than 3.00 p.m. on a Friday, absent stall-holders will be charged the full fee the following Saturday.
